My computer has recently crashed and I had to reload my operating system (XP
Pro) and i've downloaded the service pack. Now, the standby mode is no longer
an option on my "turn off my computer" menu (it's there, but not selectable).
In Power Options, there is no standby or hibernate tab. Under the advanced
tab, the only options I have for pushing the power button are: do nothing,
ask me what to do (which, again, won't let me select standby), and shut down.
I have been searching everywhere and can't find an answer to this (short of
a website that looked really complicated and talked about booting...?). any
advice is helpful.
