Win2k Pro - Setup and Reformat

TLeary

Hi,
I have been trying for a week now to reformatt my hard
drive. I want to completely start over, everytime I
load my windows CD-rom and boot up disks it goes right into
windows setup - how can I reformatt so I can load a clean
win2kpro?
I have tried switch the bios to no avail. The problem
somehow lies in the 4th boot floppy disk. It says "setup
is starting windows 2000", but it just hangs there and
stalls out. I took my win2k pro cd-rom to a friends and
even made 4 new boot disks, I tried it again, and still
the same thing. Also we could not make a "makebt32" on his
computer-im not sure what that does. Any Ideas would be
greatly appreciated :)
ACKKK!! can someone send me some "Q" numbers on how to
do this step by step - or something. Please SEND HELP !
I'm in deep here, and really need to be able to do this
without having to take it into a shop. Thanks a bunch!

Boot off of the CD and in the blue screen setup where it tells you to select
which drive/partition you want to install on, highlight the partition you
want to format and press "d"

Where is that? I have tried this several times and I have
never been given a selection as to which partition or
drive to install on? when I boot to my floppy disk and
have disk 1 inserted it goes directly to setup - there are
no options. I have 1 30gig Western Digital hard drive -no
partitions. HELP !!

If you can find an earlier copy of Windows (98 or so) and
install it, it will reformat the disk into FAT32. After
that, your 2000 disk will reformat the drive into NTFS.You
don't have to completely install 98, just format the disk
in FAT 32 and cancel the install at that point.
