Win2k login problems

I started my computer up for the first time in the morning
and went to log in using ctrl-alt-del. The initial login
screen that tells you to hit ctrl-alt-del disappeared for
a moment and just the background was displayed and then it
reappeared. I tried this several times with the same
results. I finally restarted the computer and everything
worked fine...

Has anyone heard of this happening before and any idea
what causes it to happen.

Compaq Deskpro PIII 550 w/ 128 MB RAM, WIN2K with latest
Windows updates applied.

Thanks,
Josh

Sorry, I guess I should have been more descriptive.
The computer is on a Windows NT network, and is not the
first time it has been started. The only thing recently
installed was a pop-up blocking software, but that was
almost a week ago. It appears to have been a freak thing,
but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced
this problem.

Thanks,
Josh

When you say you started it for the first time, do you
mean first time ever since Windows was installed?
