Win2k Keeps Rebooting even in Safe Mode

I'm troubleshooting a PC that was hit by the LoveSan
Virus. I found the fix for deleting the virus, but I
can't initiate it because the system keep rebooting. This
is the message I get:
The system is shutting down. Please save all work in
progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost.
This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.

The system process C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\SERVICES.EXE
terminated unexpectedly with status code 128. The system
will shut down and restart

Even in safe mode the system displays the above message
and reboots. How can I deactivate it so I can run the fix?

-Thanks

If you have a NIC in your machine, unplug it and boot
your machine up. It will no longer shutdown so you can
use the tool to remove the infection.
