Win2000 Terminal Server SP4

Geoff W.

After installing SP4 on one of our terminal servers I've
noticed that this server isn't releasing processes when
people log off. It's currently running about 1500
processes when it normally ran 600 before SP4. Also,
users are having to wait 5-10 minutes at the blue screen
before loading into the Win2000 desktop. Terminal server
manager also won't refresh the user connections it will
only show a yellowed question mark? I'm listing nothing
in the event viewer for error codes save the IPBOOTP
codes, but I really doubt this error is related.

Are there any links to hotfixes or any ideas to correct
this?

I have been using the reboot method for a quickfix
bandaid, but I was hoping there was a hotfix to keep from
doing that. I'll get on the horn with MS and get the
hotfix and install it. Sounds like a winner... Thanks
for the info.

Especially this pre-SP5 hotfix sounds interesting:

The hotfix for 324446 seems to have cured my terminal
woes. ;) The machine has been up for 36 hours and runs
like it was just rebooted. For anyone else that may be
experiencing this problem call MS Support and talk to them
about the q324446 hotfix.

Thanks for your help Vera Noest!

My pleasure! And thanks for reporting the result back here, it's
always good to know that a hotfix really solves the problem.
