Win2000 lost password

Hi All,
I havn't used my laptop in a long time...
Now I can't remember what my logon password is. How can I
fix the problem? I changed my BIOS settings to boot from
the CD first and put in the W2K cd - but the ^%$@!* still
starts windows without booting off the CD. What can I do???

HI i hope i can help.. i needed to get in my BIOS settings to make sure my USB ports were enabled .. but i needed a password of which i never remembered making !!! ... anyway i was told to unplug my power sourse to my desk top and open it up and remove the battery then put the battery back in .. VOILA!! >> the password prompt was GONE and i could get into BIOS .. unfortunately my USB ports were enabled .. you see i bought a cam and scanner and the system says they arent connected ( of course they are) .. now i see i have no multimedia controllers ?? .. also my 2 drivers are not installed .. but i dont even know what they are or what to do about them.. ANY ideas ??? i really want my hardware to work and the ADD NEW HARDWARE WIZARD asks for a cd / software that i dont even have !! >> besides the cd's i have to the hardware .. i am totally lost and cant find help.. hope by removing and adding your battery helps YOU.. bye
