Win XP SP1 prob - no mouse

I just installed Windows XP SP1a, but when my Toshiba
laptop restarts, the cPad (touchpad with screen) and
mouse no longer work. While it is starting up, the cPad
screen turns on... but when the XP blue startup screen
comes on, it stops working and so does my wireless mouse.
When I uninstall SP1a, everything works fine again. What
can I do? Is it really necessary to have SP1a? Toshiba
says my model is compatible.
Help please!

Does toshiba also have a newer touchpad driver for download?
Same for your mouse manufacturer?
