If the activation department doesn't know this, who does? We called
three times and talked to three different ACTIVATION operators and
*all* of them said the same thing. Why don't you go for four and ask
them what web page? I don't have time to search through Microsoft's
humongous web site, do you?

Activation operators? That's some 3rd or 4th level pseudo-tech. I
thought maybe you had contacted their legal department that actually
knows about their EULAs and has the power to establish company policy
and contract. "The Word" from an activation operator regarding EULAs is
as worthless as asking the grocery bag boy about privacy policy
regarding credit card purchases at the store. The court couldn't give a
damn about what you cite regarding hearsay.

Guess I'll have to just drill through their customer support until I
feel I get hold of something that actually has the power to dictate EULA
contract content to see if the purported change is indeed retroactive to
prior non-preinstalled OEM versions. However, I suspect I'll get killed
quick in navigating through their support trying to get someone with the
power to establish EULA content and enforcement because I certainly am
not going to pay them to find out about a rumoured new policy. If it
dies quick trying to get an answer from them about this, I'll just read
the EULA that actually comes with the product to see what it says.

Note that will I promote you follow the EULA which is the contract you
agreed to (by not refusing it after acquiring it and maybe installing it
to then find you reject it and return it for refund), that doesn't mean
that I agree you should do more than the EULA explicitly states. Some
folks read more into the EULA than is actually there. Do the contract,
do no more.
