when i try to install my os it gives me a blue screen and says if this is the first time you have seen this then restart or it saysThe digital signature catalog d:\i386\nts.cat could not be installed the error code is 6be, the remote procedure call failed or it tells me it has encountered a fatal error and cannot continue, any help would be appreciated.
I have a pentium 2.4 gig northwood processor, soyo p4x400 dragon ultra motherboard, western digital 120 gb hard drive, kingston pc2700 ddr 512mb ram and a geforce fx 5900 ultra video card. I have already formatted the hard drive and re-installed the os more than once but have no luck, Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

There is no nts.cat file on the XP CDs that I have here. Are you sure that is the file that is causing the error? Try disconnecting all hardware apart from the mouse, keyboard and monitor - including any broadband modem you may have.

This is an issue no one here is going to be able to solve. The path and
folder you have indicated are where the system manufacturer has put the
setup files which are accessed when you reinstall using the recovery disc.
That file has become damaged somehow. You will need to call your system
manufacturer and ask them how to repair. They may need to have the system
back to reimage.

This isn't a Windows issue.
