Cannot start windows XP

I am trying to build another computer and am running into trouble
loading Windows XP. Originally, the CD-Rom drive would not boot the
CD, so I connect the HD to the primary IDE connection in another
computer I'm currently using, and was able to install the OS there. I
then re-installed the HD as the primary in the new computer I'm
building. When I boot up, it runs through the POST with no problem,
then gives me the screen with options to: Start in Safemode, Load Last
Known Good Configuration, or Start Windows Normally. No matter what
option I choose, the screen goes black, then the computer resets.

Could this problem be occuring because I installed the OS from a
different machine?
Or is this a bad Processor?

Here are the specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
ECS N2U400-A Motherboard
Kingston 512MB 333Mhz DDR
Western Digital IDE HD 80G Ultra DMA/100 7200 RPM

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You got it. It was installed and configured based on one set of hardware and
then you plop it into another box. It doesn't like that.

It because you installed it on a different machine. Now windows is setup for
that machine, with drivers for that machine installed. When you switch it to
another machine you have to at least do a repair install. If you activated
windows on the first machine then your going to have to call ms and explain
what you did and hopefully they will activate you(as I can see how the story
could sound fishy to the activation person). If the machine your building
would not boot from the cd, then you should have used the xp floppy disk
install set available from the ms website. So right now at the very least
you'll need a repair install, but I'd just get the floppy install disks,
format the drive, and start over with the drive in the correct machine.

Yep. At the very least you need to do a repair install
after changing the motherboard.

You should really fix your boot from CD issue too.
You're bound to want that someday.
