I installed the following updates to my Windows 2000
system w/SP4 last week:
DirectX 9.0b End-User Runtime
Security Update for Windows 2000 (823980)
Security Update (MS Jscript V5.6, Windows 2000) (814078)
Security Update for MS Windows (819696)
Security Update for Windows 2000 (823980)
June 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 SP1

Ever since, I get the following error message on bootup:
Epson Printer Port - The Service Was Unable To Start...
Check Event Viewer.
EVENT VIEWER SAYS:
1. Service Control Manager- The Eplpdx02 service failed to
start due to the following error: The parameter is
incorrect.
2. Eplpdx02- The Eplpdx02 service could not be started.
The Epson printer still works, but I uninstalled and
reinstalled it anyway. It didn't fix it.
What did these updates do to my system and how can I fix
it?
