win 98 device driver

I hae recently bought a data cable for my v300 phone. When
installing. win 98 does not recognise the file type and
does not let me access the phone. However on win xp ( on
my friends comp) it allows the installation and the
program works. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can
do to make this work on my win 98 comp.

Drivers for xp and win98 are different.
Check with the mfg for driver suitable for win98.
Note also that win98 is now obsolete and many vendors dropping support for it.
