win 98 and xp home

I have installed xp home over win 98 and now want to uninstal both off the computer and start a fresh with xp home how will i go about that please any body

I think you have to format you harddrive, unfortunately. One of my friends is really into computers, and that's what he does when he changes OS. Don't take it for granted that I'm right though... I'm no expert...

Whenever I've upgrade my Windows OS, I alway do a backup of current OS than reformat the drive then when prompted to insert disk I insert the new OS disk and follow directions. Just be aware that when you format the drive you will have to reinstall all software and programs you originally had prior to reformating.

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
