Win 2k Pro and Win XP Home by LAN Crossover?

I have a Laptop with Win 2k Pro and a desktop Win XP Home, can I use a CAT5
LAN Crossover cable to share files between them? I can do it no problem
between Win 98 SE and Win XP Home, but I see no info on doing this with Win
2K Pro and Win XP Home.

I though it was a simple Win XP Home CD, choose other program (Or something
like that) choose Home Network(Or something like that) on both machines,
but when its put into the Win 2K Pro machine I get does not work that way
with Win 2K Pro and Win XP Home.

There has to be a way to do it until I get a FLash Drive using my Crossover
Cables.
