I have a new LCD flat panel monitor and I don't like the
looks of the fonts no matter what I try --smooth fonts and
optimum resolution. AT the computer store yesterday a
technician showed me the clear type fonts option with WIN
XP and it was spectacular. Can this option/type of fonts
be downloaded for WIN 2000? I have 256 megs of RAM and a
P4 266 processor on a desktop PC. Thank you.

Hi,

Go to your display properties, then go to Appearance, now click on
Effects, now click the option "Use the following method to smooth edges
of screen fonts:", and finally drop the option box down and change it
from Standard to ClearType.
