Win 2000 cannot reboot after WMP 9.0 installation

Hi. I have Win 2000, sp2. I recently installed WMP 9.0
and now when I reboot or shutdown, I get stuck at a
completely blank screen and neither task with finish
successfully. If rebooting, I have to manually restart.
If shuting down, I have to turn off power on power supply.

Any help is appreciated!

I recently installed WMP 9.0b on W2K Pro without any
problem. In my case, however, I had W2K SP4 installed
first. Perhaps you need SP4? (It is large, so unless you
have broadband, I would suggest spending the $10 to get
the CD from Microsoft.) Good luck.
