Norton Ghost 9.0 advantage over 2003? And use on XP/2000

I read a little about Ghost 9.0 (just got it).and I have Ghost 2003 on
Win 2000. I see the changes they made to 9.0 as listed in the manual.
I do wonder

******However if you can use it on XP reliably and recover .gho files
under NTFS with the boot CD they can supposedly can create for you
ie: Are there any circumstances for Win 2K or XP where I would want
2003 installed instead or as well for these 2 OS'?

I ask this since Ghost 9.0 ships with both CD's - I belive so they can
support multiple OS's. 2003 CD is included to support I believe NT, ME
or 9X OS'.

****I also see it has product activiation and wonder if I could
install this on 2 systems I have at home without buying another 9.0??

Thanks,
Patty.

Ghost 9.0 is now using Drive Image technology. (Symantec purchased
Powequest some time ago) That's why the .NET Framework is required
before Ghost 9.0 will even install. Ghost 2003 (original Ghost
technology) does not need or require the .NET Framework.

Both versions will work fine in Win2000/XP with either FAT-32 or NTFS.
The big difference in Ghost 9.0 (besides the annoying activation) is
the ability to boot from a recovery CD and restore the image. Of
course there are other improvements also.

As for the product activation, you'll have to read the EULA to see if
you can install it on more than one machine. Or give Symantec support
a call\send E-Mail.

I hope it works out well for you. There have been posts from other
users who were very dissatisfied with Ghost 9, one even sending back
his copy for a refund.
