Will SP2 upgrade IE version?

A friend evidently has an older version of Internet Explorer (5.5) on her
new computer which came loaded with XP Home and SP1. If she uses the SP2
upgrade disk will that also upgrade her IE version?

I'm not sure how your friend has IE v 5.5, because XP installs v 6. Has
your friend been to Windows Update to see IE v6 can be installed that way?
