xp professional and sp 2

A friend of mine has a pc with xp professional which has not been updated
since before sp2 came out.

I am trying to updated it for her, she is 70, and I'm wondering if someone
could tell me if there is a special version of sp2 for professional or would
the "home" version be ok.

SP2 is for both--there is no special version for each OS.

SP2 as mentioned by Ron is for both versions.
I would download the file and not use the Windows Update site to install
SP2.

After you download and install SP2 go here:
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=89 and download AutoPatcher
for XP (it is many BIG files). When you run it you will find it includes
patches/hotfixes/updates/etc for XP w/SP2 that were released after SP2 came
out.

This is no "Home" version or "Professional" version. There is only a
single version to be used for either.
