Microsoft Office xp-Professional

Guest

I have loaded Microsoft Office 95 (Professional) which I have updated with
Microsoft Office 97 (Professional) which in turn has been updated to
Microsoft Office xp (Professional) running on Microsfot Windows xp (Home
Edition)
I believe that my 'Office' is corrupt.
I have tried installing 'Office xp' over the existing 'xp' version but this
has not cured the problem.
Can I uninstall 'Office' (all versions) without disturbing anything else and
reinstall it?
Any help would be apppreciatred

On the Help menu of any Office app you will find a "Detect and repair" item.
This should fix any corruption.

I would try the uninstall the older versions of office and install
Office XP clean. With upgrades (esp. from the pre-2000 products to
post-2000) there can be problems. Example, upgrading 98 to XP can
cause quirks b/c of different file systems (esp. with long file
names). The uninstall shouldn't disturb your documents.

Sorry I do not understand-what is your advice?

I believe he's asking you what the problem you're experiencing is, that
leads you to believe that the Office install is corrupt. That would be
helpful to know.

By the way, upgrade installations of Office normally remove previous
versions at the beginning of the install process. So when you uninstall
the current version, Office is uninstalled, period. You don't wind up with
layers of versions.

No. The upgrade installs remove previous versions.
or will uninstalling xp leave
me with out Office of any version?

It should uninstall Office, period. It won't restore or reactivate
previous versions.
