Will restore in win XP restore my drivers I accidentally removed?

I did a dumb thing. I removed my D-Link DWL-520 wireless G PCI adapter
from my desktop planning to move it to another desktop. Don't ask..
long story. I did this with the assumption that my install disk was at
hand. No.. that was for the D Link Router.. not the 520. Oops..
well, just go to the website.. My luck.. it's no longer supported.
it's obsolete (what a difference a year makes, no?)

I tried downloading the drivers, and followed instructions in my
manual (which I do have). No luck. XP just doesn't find those drivers.
I was wondering if I could try picking a Restore point on my original
desktop, and plugging in the wireles PCI card back in the ol' slot
where it was when I started this adventure.

Would it work?

Thanks in advance..

replies can be sent to (e-mail address removed) of course.. you know
what to remove in the email address.

A restore point restores the computer to that time it doesnt affect new email or documents you saved but should restore drivers to the point you are restoring to.
I went to www.dlink.com and clicked on support and there are drivers for xp
for that card. When you search for them in the first box for selecting your
product enter DWL and the second box enter 520 then you just have to pick the
card revision that you have by looking at the card and pictures.
Hope this helps.

The best way to answer your "Would it work?" question is to try it and
see. If it works, great. If it doesn't, you can un-do the
restoration.

Have you tried simply plugging the adapter back in? Removing it from
the computer shouldn't have un-installed the driver program.
