Hello,

I am having some problems with my ip addresses on a few
computers on my home network. When I type in "ipconfig" in
the command prompt, my ip address shows
as "fe80::250:baff:fe83:7db1%4". Is it normal?

Cheers,
Eugene Soh

This is an auto-configured link-local IPv6 address.
It will automatically appear if you have IPv6 enabled.
( it's generated from your LAN card's MAC address. )
You will also see a bunch of tunneling pseudo-adapters.
Yes, this is normal.

You have either installed IPv6 manually,
or it was installed as part of the Peer-to-Peer
components from the Advanced Networking Pack.

Check in Add/Remove software, Windows Components, Networking.
If Peer-To-Peer is selected, then that's where it came from.

Peer to Peer is a component which was added , IIRC,
with the Advanced Networking Pack:

You probably picked this up off windows update without realising.

This should not cause any network problems.
What problems are you having that you think this is causing?
