Wierd Excel swithcing from other windows problem

I oftentimes use alt-tab to switch from one window (i.e., some website
having data) to excel.

Oftentimes I have a search box open in excel because I want to see if I
already have certain data from the website located anywhere in my
spreadsheet.

So, sometimes when I hit alt-tab (or just use my mouse to click the excel
window--same result happens) all excel opens up, complete with the search
box. This is perfect.

However, about half the time, only the search box opens up, over the website
I was just looking at. I have to spend time re-clicking excel until finally
I get excel and the searchbox up together.

Anyone know if there is a fix for this so when I alt-tab it maximizes all of
excel every time rather than sometimes just the excel searchbox over
whatever other window I'm in?

Try to restart the PC. Maybe the computer had run for a long time and its
performance had been lower.
