Hi ive got a new acer 5920 with windows vista premium and having problems
with my wireless network I can see other networks but not mine and theres a
couple of unsecured ones which my computer goes for rather than my own
network ive gone for creating a new network connection which is ok until the
end bit where I should connect it tells me its not recognized I then find it
in the acer management folder but when I try and connect it once again isnt
recognized Ive also done a connection via the acer enet management with new
profile which has got through but hasnt allowed me to save it can any one
help please.

Have you reset your router?
Is your router set to a certain channel?
Can you use other devices to connect to the router?

Hi Robert yes tried reseting router channels ok ive got a network of three
computers all running windows xp now im trying to add this one with vista on
ive tried a wired connection which works ok but its the Wi-Fi im having
trouble with when i go through the set up for a connection with vista alls ok
until I ask it to connect it goes through the cycle of trying to connect then
says its unable to without saing why.

Some routers just have trouble with Vista.
It could be the driver for the wireless adapter, check the manufacturer's
website for an updated driver.
I would check to see if it will connect OK at a hotspot, like Starbucks.
If it does, your router may be incompatible or need a firmware update.
If you have a USB wireless adapter that is Vista compatible, try it.
You may want to call Acer, they may know a solution.

Hi everyone thanks for your replies on my acer 5920 comes an acer eNet
Management which by seeting up a new profile am able to connect wirelessly
which shows its not totally to do with the netgear router I still cant
connect if I try using the create home network on vista it must be to do with
how one must configure it one of the original problems I had was when I
opened the create home network it only showed other peoples networks as per
neighbours and not mine and to make matters worse even connected to one
because I didnt realise what I was doing can anyone tell me the right way to
set this up and how do I delete a network I made in error.

Hi,

I also bought the same acer 5920 laptop. I also hav the same problem. I am
unable to connect internet with wireless. Even I tried plugged the cable(with
wire) still no luck. I am really frustrated about this acer. If you got any
solutions please share with us.

Thanks.

Have you got the wep or any other security on your network if so you will
have to put those passwords in so as to connect
