I needed a copy of a sales receipt from CompUSA for a rebate. I
scanned the receipt on my scanner and saved it as a jpg file. I
inserted the jpg into a word doc and printed it. It just prints as a
blank page. I have no trouble printing other jpg files. I also tried
it in "paint". Blank page again. I can see the picture on the
screen, why won't it print?

What kind of printer? If you use 'print preview', can you see the image?

yes i can see it in preview. HP 940c. The paper just whips through
the printer with no attempt to print.

Try this if you have some photo-editing software, such as Photoshop
Elements, or Arcsoft, or whatever. Open the jpg of the receipt, select all
of it and copy it. Still within the software open a new canvas and paste the
picture of your receipt. Save it as a new jpg file. Try printing it. If it's
a go then try pasting it into your word document and see what happens.

To avoid solving complexity with Word and solve the problem (print a
receipt), load the jpeg into IE or Mozilla, then print from there.

With regard to Word, the info at the MVP page at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/DrwGrphcs/InvisibleGraphics.htm may help.
Suggest you do followups in a Word newgroup if you wish to pursue.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
