jpg resizing

When I right click on a .jpg file and select send to mail recipient, the
dialog for
resizing the picture does not appear anymore. It just loads the full size
picture in
the email client.
It's ok when renaming the file in .jpeg. It's ok for .bmp, .gif or other
pictures.
How do I bring back the resize dialog for .jpg files?

OK
The firewall is ZoneAlarm. The antivirus is Avast. When stopping both I have
the same problem.
I tried to search the web and a french forum (I'm french, sorry for the
mistakes) but no help.
I suppose it's something to change in the registry as getting the registry
files from WINDOWS\repair is making everything work fine (but I loose all my
settings).
I hope you can help me fix it.

Try this:

Click Start/Run and type "REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL" (without the quote marks)

This should restore the image resize dialog when sending a picture by email.

Try the .JPG fix shown here:

I tried it but it tells me that some keys are open by the system so it can't
change anything...

I really thank you. Everything is working correctly with this add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/5773
I thought that was Windows that would resize the pictures and not
Thunderbird, my mistake.
