Why Vista is great

If all you do is play games, Windows, for now, is your best bet. If you
want to play around with Ubuntu so that you'll be ready for the future,
set up a dual boot. Have the best of both worlds ;-)

I'm not big on games myself so I don't know much about it, but other Linux
gaming enthusiasts have told me they use Playstation and Nintendo
emulators running under Linux to play the latest games.

It's mostly kids and young adults who are interested in graphics-intensive
shoot-em-ups and role-playing games. Older adults tend toward slower, more
intellectually-challenging games that exercise the brain rather than the
reflexes. Linux has no shortage of those.

Hehe, if i did that, I'd be doing the same thing the linux trolls are doing
on here :)

You might find out the information you said you wanted or are you just
being a wise ass?

Just a wise ass :)

This is a help newsgroup, not world of warcraft where trolls roam free.

It is moderated to some extent, especially if one draws off the Microsoft
servers. It's relatively clear of SPAM and from time to time they
[Microsoft] block obnoxious trolls who don't watch their online tongues
[even, or especially the 'anonymous' ones].

If they didn't, it would just end up a foul hole of potty-mouthed trolls,
SPAM and bot-nonsense.

I didn't say it wasn't moderated. I, and others, have been censored
here. I said it isn't moderated the way she wants it to be moderated.

Posting anonymously removes any bias. If I posted as George Clooney or
Bridget Spears, would you think differently of my posts? What if my real
name was "Harry Pusey", would you think differently of my posts? How
about Mohammad?

Because there aren't any games designed for Linux? I don't know as I
still play games using XP ;-). I have a dual boot, one for XP and the
other for Ubuntu. I am learning Ubuntu, mind you, so if you want an
expert's advice, go to alt.os.linux.ubuntu and ask there.

So... "...learning Ubuntu..." are we? Gee, you make it sound like you're
the seasoned vet. Odd.

Hey, Alias. Yours is one of several posts I've seen in the past few days
mentioning Ubuntu. Can yuo supply any info on it? I'd like to hear more .
.

Er, well the official website is probably a good place to start:
http://www.ubuntu.com/

I have Ubuntu 6.10 running as a guest OS in Virtual PC 2007 - works
perfectly, even though there are no VPC Additions for it.

I used to use SuSE, but found it cumbersome - I much prefer Ubuntu.

The only reason I use Linux is for testing web applications if the client
*specifically* asks for this level of testing.

Other than that, I have no need for it / interest in it at all...
