Why Vista is great

Wow, do you people love to complain about great products. Go ahead, stop
your crying if you don't like Vista. Nobody is forcing you to buy it. Go use
a "wonderful" Mac, or use Linux and see where you get.

I'm sick of ignorant people bashing a great product. WHY? Because you've 1)
probably never used it, and have heard some kid who probably tried to pirate
a copy complain about something 2) think that YOU should obtain main years of
hard work in the form of software - FREE (go use Linux, you'll see the
quality of programming and level of hardware and software support for that
OS... it has NO place on a Home Desktop system -- web server? Sure) 3) You
just like looking for things to complain about and are afraid of change.

Get over yourselves! Vista by FAR is the best OS to date, bar none. There
are no hugely glaring issues, and hopefully IT WILL force people with dated
hardwar eto upgrade... its good for the industry and consumer as a whole
incase some of you cannot see the larger picture here instead of your "right
here, right now" crying nonsense.

Get with the program. Either enjoy the best OS created to date, or get lost
and use whatever else you want. Go cry somewhere else... for the rest of the
people also who might actually ENJOY Vista, don't ruin it for them with your
BS and 'cause Microsoft to lose out on a sale because you're talking from
your nether regions.

Get real... Vista is awesome.

Vista works great as my desktop system. :) Oops.

Ubuntu is a great OS, but it doesn't have the compatibility that Vista has
(and Vista is still waiting on third party manufacturers to finish their
drivers!). It just doesn't have the gaming capabilities, or the mainstream
application support. Sure, instead of Office, you have OpenOffice and
Photoshop/GIMP and on and on... But, with each alternative you have another
learning curve for the users using the mainstream product going to the open
source product. After using it for a while, it may be easier, but the
support isn't there unless it is an online support forum.

Linux is a great OS (well, kernel...), but it just doesn't have the edge on
the desktop. Vista has the hardware support (drivers created by the
manufacturer, no hobbiest drivers for wireless NIC's!), software support
(both in the software options and problem support), and industry support.

It all comes down to the support and applications. Same with console gaming:
it all comes down to the games. If they suck, it won't sell.

You've posted this message twice. Is this one of the groovy new features
of Vista?

All your posts say "troll post", is this one the new "world" features of
Ubuntu? And didn't you know that trolling goes against USENET "standards"
even more so than top-posting. Trolling activity is unwelcome on USENET.

So what's the problem, the Ubuntu groups aren't interesting enough? The all
of twenty-two Ubuntu users don't have anything to say to each other? No
config files to discuss?

Quit trolling. Get a life.

I love Usenet cops. If you don't like my posts, don't read them. If you
have no self control, plonk me.

It works great on my ASUS with an AMD 800 Mhz with 512MB PC-100 RAM. XP
runs well on it too and, when I buy Vista, it won't be Home Basic.

If nothing else, just the Internet surfing security Ubuntu gives you
makes it worth it to install it on a slave hard drive. I have this one
with a dual boot with XP Pro. What I can't do with one, I can do with
the other, the best of both worlds :)

It may be a nice OS if you're all business, assuming you can at least run
all internet stuff and save docs in MS Word format...
If it can't run all the games I run on Windows it's worthless.

I'm sorry alias, I walked down to a local gaming store and asked for some
linux games. They kind of laughed at me. Why is that? :)

Order the 6.06 CD at www.ubuntu.com/ They send it to you free and pay
the postage. Run the live CD and see how you like it before installing it.

If all you do is play games, Windows, for now, is your best bet. If you
want to play around with Ubuntu so that you'll be ready for the future,
set up a dual boot. Have the best of both worlds ;-)

Because there aren't any games designed for Linux? I don't know as I
still play games using XP ;-). I have a dual boot, one for XP and the
other for Ubuntu. I am learning Ubuntu, mind you, so if you want an
expert's advice, go to alt.os.linux.ubuntu and ask there.

on here :)
