Why no Aero

Here are my specs

2.2 Pentium 4
1024 meg ram
512 meg ATI Radeon x1300

Yet my processor SubScore is only 3.2. And I don't have any of the cool
Aero, I am still running RC2 and I don't want to go out and spend 250 bucks
if I can't get Aero Glass ect.

RC2 has a known bug that disables Aero on some pcs

Get your hands on a final copy of Vista, you don't need to purchase it, just
ask someone for the disk or download from the internet - vista final is
available on ,ost torrent pages for weeks now (the dvd includes all
editions, regardless what the disk has printed on it ) and install without a
productkey, that gives you a 30 day evaluation copy for testing.

Get the final drivers from Ati-AMD, do not use the builtin vista-drivers, as
they lack certain 3D features and see if that helps unlocking Aero.

The card should have the capabilities, and Vista from HomePremium onwards
too.

Vista Home Basic has Aero, but without "Glass" and without Live
previews,taskbar thumbnails et al.
