Why does the Proffesional Dissapear on the Splash Screen

Dom

I am puzzled as to why the after instaling SP2 on XP Pro,
that during the Boot-Up Splash screen, the word
Professional has dissapeared. It used to read Windows XP
(Blue Bars) then underneath the blue bars the word
Professional was displaid that has now dissapeared.

Has anyone else noticed this, and does any one know of a
fix or why it happens.

Thanks.

It's done by design. Don't worry about it; there's nothing wrong with your
computer.

There's nothing to fix. It was done on purpose.

It was done by design, because there are now 4 different versions of
Windows XP:
- Home
- Professional
- Tablet PC
- Media Center PC

All four versions are updated by the same Service Pack file, and
rather than provice four different splash screen images in the Service
Pack it was decided to use just one image file for all four versions.

The correct version information is shown in Control Panel - System
General or by using Start - Run - WINVER.

Hope this clarifies the situation.

good luck
