I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that after the
SP2 install that that the Windows XP splash screen no
longer has copyright date or the word "Professional", Yes
I have XP pro installed. Is this for any particular
reason? And as silly as it might sound, I bought XP Pro
for a reason vs Home, I would like it to still say pro,
yes, silly I know, but kinda like having a Mistubishi
3000GT and only calling it a Mitsubishi, Thanks for any
info. Have a great day!

Yes, the splash screen has changed with SP2 and it is now the
same for both XP Pro and XP Home. Believe it or not, some
folks would upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro because they
did not like green.

Surely you have more important things to think about?

I think I'd rather have it called a Mitsubishi than a "Mistubishi". Well,
why not have a real "Mistubishi 3000GT" on your bootscreen? Get bootskin
from Startdock free and say goodbye to those ugly old Ms boot screen ads
forever. Can't remember the last time I had a stock boot screen on *my*
computer. Yuk.

you know, this question starts to be annoying. It has been asked at least one
mio times. Doesn't anybody use the search function here?

Well, if it is any consolation, if you look at the progress bar when the splash screen is there, you'll notice that it is blue (the one that moves back and forth at the bottom). XP Home still does this in green.

No- I have XPsp2 Home and my progress bar is blue.
