why does student/teacher version keep popping up?

i downloaded the 3 month freebie version of student Office. At the end of
the 3 months, I went out and spent $525 and bought the full professional
version and installed it. Now - when I try to open different things, I'll
get a window pop up and say that Office Student Version is expired. I have 2
questions:

1. How can I make the student version window stop popping up
2. When you spend $525 on a product - shouldn't you get some kind of
support from the people you bought it from?

1) Did you uninstall the trial version of student office before instaling
the pro version?

2) Sure.

No, I didn't uninstall as I just assumed (incorrectly) that the installation
of a newer, better, more expensive, more complete version would negate the
older one. Now, what do I do? thanks for answering.
