I have home and student trial. I was trying to convert to the full version of
Office standard. When I go to enter the product key that is on the yellow
sticker it says its the wrong key. My question is can i convert from the
trial version of home and student to the full version of standard. Also I
dont know if this means anything but, the version that i bought says
Microsoft office standard across the top and down to the right it says, April
2007 Applications Student Media. I got it from my school. If anyone can help
please do

Note that uninstalling and re-installing a different version will not wreck
your personalisations. It just takes a bit longer than applying a new key ;)

My problem is similar. Am running Word 2003 on desktop. Just bought a small
netbook with a trial version of Word 2007 which asks for a product key. My
product key number in Word 2003 doesn't work, and the netbook doesn't have a
disk drive; only bus drives. I can't use all the features of Word 2007
beyond what's in the trial version. What can I do?

The trial version of Office 2007 is fully functioning while the trial lasts.
If you can start Word what is probably being requested is the activation.
Word Options > Resources > Activate Office and follow the instructions..

The product key for the Office trial (to allow it to be installed) will have
been supplied with the netbook. It may be on a label on the base, but if
there is only one such label that will be for Windows so look amongst the
bumph supplied. The Office 2003 product key is entirely different.

What's a 'bus' drive?

Your Office 2003 licence will allow you to install 2003 on your netbook. You
could set up a small network to install from your desktop DVD drive. If you
plan to install both - see http://www.gmayor.com/Toolbars_in_word_2007.htm

I imagine the netbook has USB ports. That being the case, it should be
possible to copy the Office 2003 installation files to a USB drive and
install from that.
