Why does my computer remember all my searches?

I am constantly deleting my history, temporary internet files and cookies. Still, everytime I am on a search website, a list of everything I have ever searched the site for pops down in a list from the search bar. I am trying to figure out what to do that will stop this from happening and forget all those old searches!
