First, I did this:
Windows start button>Computer>C>Users>(My
Name)>AppData>Local>Microsoft>Windows>Temporary Internet Files. All the
files showing in this folder appear to be cookies and other junk you get
from using the internet. I don't see any folders.
then, I pasted the following link into the white search bar the appears just
about the Windows search button when you click the latter:
C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5. Now, a link to the Content.IE5 folder appears. I follow
it and there are 4 folders showing, and just two cookie-looking files. In
one of those folders is what I was looking for: A Word attachment that I had
mistakenly saved to this folder.
So, I went back and tried to navigate to this Content.IE5 folder following
the first method dhown above. But, as I've already stated, when you open
Temporary Internet Folders, you get a list of cookie-looking files.
Why do you see different things under Temporary Internet Files when you
employ these two approaches? I am showing hidden and protected files when I
do it both ways.
