Why does IE7 load microsft home page although it should be blank ?

See the third paragraph in the Cause section of this article:

Multiple windows open when you start Windows Internet Explorer 7 after you
upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista

Easiest way to stop this is to go to the "runonce" page and complete the
tasks there. When
finished, you can set your home page to whatever you want.

If no joy, post to the IE 7 newsgroup:

Users of IE7 are asked to post their comments to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.
