IE7 Startup problem

Hello I just recently installed IE7 on my WinXP Home laptop. Everytime I
launch IE ever since it was installed it loads:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005 But then i get a error page
cannot be found webpage. I am connected to the internet and i have changed my
homepage. Any other website i type in works. I would just like to get rid of
the default startup page and use my homepage. Any Ideas?

Thank you

Peter

That link works for me.

Did you do [Alt] Tools/Internet Options/Home page/

and put a single line in the box reading "about:blank" (no quotes)

No I set my homepage to http://www.google.ca but everytime i open IE it goes
to: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005 which redirects me to:
http://www.msn.com/404.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/runonce2.aspx I know that its
trying to get to the "first run" webpage that you get after installing IE7
introducing you to the program. but i just want to bypass that. Maybe
reinstalling or repairing IE7 will fix it?
