Why would email from someone automatically be directed to my Junk Email
folder even though that address is not on my Junk Email list?

Outlook 2002 does contain a junk mail filter, although it's not very good.
That filter scans the message for certain strings (see
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010450051033.aspx) and, if
found, and you have the junk mail filter set to move messages, then the
message will be moved. For example, if you have a friend to whom you own
money and that friend writes to you and says, "I'd like my money back", the
junk mail filter will see "money back" and flag the message as junk.

Yes, I know about the Junk Mail filter and the words it acts upon and I'm
pretty positive, although I don't have the emails any longer, that none of
those words were included. It seemed that the only thing the emails had in
common were that it was from the same person. I'll check if/when it happens
again. Thanks for your help!
