Junk email going to SENT folder

B

Bert

I had an issue with my PST file in Outlook 2007. I created a new PST and
moved my email into it. Everything works now but one thing: JUNK email is
going to my SENT folder. I do have a JUNK folder and it has a different icon
than the other folders. I can't find any way to define where junk email
should be routed.

Any help??

outlook routes it automatically. What issue did you have with the pst and
how did you move the old mail into it? It may have messed up the default
folders - you can try to fix it by opening outlook using the /resetfolders
switch.
See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/switches.htm if you need help using
switches.

Thanks Diane! Didn't know Outlook had command line options. That did the
trick - I wonder why they didn't just add the option to the GUI!

Thanks,

FWIW, my PST wouldn't index properly. I tried SCANPST but it didn't do the
trick. I also couldn't delete or rename folders - got an error about "folder
full". Found lots of people with that issue, but no solutions. So, I just
created a new PST file. Just wish there was a tool to bulk-edit the "rules",
as all of the rules needed to be updated.

thanks,
bert

many commands are not something most people would ever need, so they are
better as a switch.

Just wish there was a tool to bulk-edit the "rules",
as all of the rules needed to be updated.

You and a few million others. :) I don't know why no one has created a tool
that can edit the exported rules file so you could import it.

I actually started to write a tool - but only go so far with the API without
docs. It shouldn't be too hard if the API were well documented. I could list
my rules, but since rules have SO many options, I quit w/o getting too far
into it. It only took me about a half-hour to fix all my rules manually -
would have taken me 5 or 6 hours probably to write a "rustic" tool.

It's proably something somebody at MS could write pretty quickly.
