Why do I receive duplicate emails??

I have 2 different email accounts going through my Outlook. Everything was
configured correctly with the help of Microsoft. Now, I get duplicate emails
of everything!!! Also, I time out when trying to send or receive emails.
What's happening??

A few questions for you:
- Are both accounts POP3/SMTP mail accounts?
- Have you tried increasing the server timeout values?
- Is the timeout only when sending or receiving or both?

the hotmail account is http (default) and the comcast account is POP/SMTP. I
increased the timeout - it now goes to 5 or 6 minutes. The timeout happens
when sending & receiving, but mostly when receiving.

If you disable the Hotmail account temporarily does the timeout happen?
Also, is the Hotmail account a paid one?
