Why can't I post to newsgroups?

My messages don't appear when I post them. Why does this happen?

Well, I can read this, so it must appear. My experience is that it takes a
few minutes for them to appear after posting.

technically; the answer is that Microsoft censors half of the posts on
this newsgroup
