Why can't I hear the sound files that I recorded into Powerpoint?

I followed the directions for recording a short audio file directly into a
PowerPoint presentation, but I can't hear the sound that I recorded. When I
record a short audio file using a different application and then insert it
into Powerpoint, then the sound plays just fine. Neverthless, I would like
to know how to use the "record sound" function within Powerpoint correctly.
Any suggestions?

Hi Mike,

One thing you can do when going through the Narration Wizard is to test your
microphone and recording level. Slideshow| Record Narration| Set microphone
level.

whether you are using vba, whether
your cows are in the corn paddock, or
anything else relevant.
 
Dear Glen,

Thanks so much for your suggestion. I didn't actually end up having to
change the setting at all, but somehow, after having gone through the
narration wizard, the recordings are now working.

I really appreciate your help.
