Why can't I access certain websites anymore?

Hello! About a week ago, I lost my ability to view certain websites. They
ranged from www.thatvideosite.com to http://www.wingchun-sf.com/. There
doesn't appear to be a pattern to what I can and cannot access.

I get a "This page cannot be displayed" message. This is a very recent
thing; I had been viewing these formerly accessible websites daily. I'm at a
loss as to what caused it.

Though I did download that nasty little piece of work "Software Distribution
Service 2.0" at around the same time I could no longer view the websites, I
reformatted my entire hard drive to rid myself of it and reinstalled Windows
XP. I still cannot access the websites, though I did regain my ability to
play games online.

Thanks for any help.

Michael,

Try a DNS test first.

Then check your MTU setting.

I ran the DNS test and received 100% packet loss when I pinged thatvideosite
(URL & IP).

I downloaded DRTCP after looking at the MTU page and ran it, but I'm not
sure what I'm supposed to do with it. I tried to access the "Annoyances" link
from PChuck's page and I couldn't get into it.

Off the DSLreports page, it's acts as though I'm using a satelite modem, but
I'm using DSL so I don't know what to make of it.

Hi Chuck, I tried both your pages.

I went to the DNS test and pinged thatvideosite by URL and IP. Both times I
experiences a time out with 100% packet loss. Not really sure what to make of
that.

I went to the MTU page and downloaded Dr.TCP. However, I'm not sure what to
do with it. I tried accessing the "Annoyances" page off the MTU page but I
can't get to it. Then I went to a page that talked about tweaking it off
DSLReports but the instruction acted as though I had a satelite modem when I
have DSL.
