Why are my hyperlinks in Outlook being changed to text once sent?

I am new to Outlook 2003, but not new to the Outlook program. I am baffled.
My company recently make the conversion to '03 and no one can send out a
hyperlink as before. I use Insert/Hyperlink and browse for the file I want
to link. The recipients do not receive a hyperlink, only text. Has anyone
solved this problem already?
