I'd like to try linux. I've heard of redhat and suse and am wondering where to start. Which would you guys recommend?

Would I be able to chat with someone using msn-messenger?

Thanks

as feckit said it is probably best to try out the linux live disks. Everyone with linux has their own preferences and which distro ou prefer comes down to the individual user so i would download a bunch of live disks and see which distro you and your system likes best:thumb:

Pick one you like ... I have Suse 10.1 on one PC & Mandriva 1006 on another ... Kopete is the IM of choice for many and it will "talk" to all the IMs. ;)

If your PC does not like the Distro you choose, then choose another ... one reason I'm using two. :D
