Where would this be held?

Using Win 2000 (sp4)

I had an icon on my desktop that had a shortcut key combination - the icon
has disappeared (I probably deleted it by mistake!) but bizarrely the
shortcut key combination STILL works!

I want to use this shortcut on another icon but have absolutely no idea
where they are kept so I can delete it?

Any ideas?

thanks

You might try posting that to alt.clairvoyants.crystalball. You'll
probably have a better chance of getting a solution from them.

What shortcut? What key combination? What program? What Icon? We
have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!

When a.c.clairvoyants fails, I've found a.c.tealeaves and a.c.duckliver
quite helpful.

Are you talking about a standard Windows shortcut?

If you ever added your own shortcut, that probably was done inside an
application or with some utility.

On my desktop I had an icon for an application, in the right click
properties I set "Ctrl+Alt+X" as the shortcut key.

This desktop icon has now disappeared (like I said I probably deleted it by
mistake) but "Ctrl+Alt+X" still opens the application - I want to assign
this to another desktop icon but I can't because as soon as I try to set it
for the new app the old one opens!

Hope this makes some sense?

many thanks

They're called hotkeys. You probably crated the shortcut combination in
the Start Menu>Programs folder. Do a search on your pc for the program
..LNK file. Or search for *.LNK and from the list find the program
shortcut and edit it.
