How to remove shortcut "Hot keys"?

I mean the key combination you can set up for a shortcut on your desktop or
somewhere else in the directory tree. It is very useful, but there's a
problem about it: when you set a "Shortcut key" for a shortcut (it can be
done in the shortcut's Properties panel) and subsequntly delete this shortcut
without cancelling it's Shortcut key first, the combination remains reserved.
And if you want to reassign this combination for another shortcut, it causes
a collision so that it doesn't work.

So I need to know how to remove the Shortcut key combination in case it's
shortcut had been removed previously. I guess this information is stored
somewhere in the windows registry, but I don't know where, so I'd be very
grateful just for it's location in the registry.

Thanks

George,

Create a new shortcut using the same name as the shortcut you deleted. Then right-click the shortcut, and then click Properties. On the Shortcut tab, click the Shortcut Key box. Reassign the shortcut key by typing a new key combination, or remove the shortcut key by pressing the BACKSPACE key (None appears in the Shortcut Key box). Click OK.

You may now delete the shortcut.

Alternately, you can use the freeware "Shortcut Key Explorer" to assign/unassign shortcut keys:
