Windows used to keep these things in application, data.
indentities files with a .pst suffix -- In windows XP I
can't find where they are. I want to assigned them to
mydocs so I can keep backups of all my mail accounts. Any
ideas?

If your talking about outlook .pst files, they are located here:
(these folders are hidden so you have to set hidden folders to show in
explorers folder options)
C:\Documents and Settings\your user name here\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Try looking in C:\Documents and Settings\<Your UserName>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Address Book; look for the file with a .wab extension.

No, Windows didn't keep them there. You were using Microsoft
Outlook, and Outlook kept (and still keeps) them there.

In windows XP I
can't find where they are.

Presumably you no longer have Outlook installed. Are you using
Outlook Express, which comes with Windows?
