When i switch users in xp i get a black desktop

Hello if anyone can solve this riddle i would be
incredibly grateful. I have myself and my wife as log in
users on my p.c. When she gets on her desktop has a big
flower and all is cool. When i log on after she logs off
my desktop is black and i have an error message refering
to my hp printer. What is going on here? Anyone else ever
have this problem and if so how do you solve it?
