Lost IE Icon - second user profile

As the administrator I have an Internet Explorer icon on my screen and in
the Quick Launch bar. However, my wife has her own log on profile and she
doesn't have an icon. I have had to put a couple of shortcuts on her desktop
to enable her to open Explorer.

I have read about fixes in the registry - about setting a particular value
to "0" and have checked that this is the case - but still no icon on my
wife's desktop.

any other suggestions?

If you have SP2 do this Click Start - Run - Type desk.cpl - press enter -
click DESKTOP TAB-click customize desktop - Put check marks in desktop icons
for the icons you need then click apply and press OK.

See the Resolution in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945402/

NB: While the Resolution will place an IE icon on the desktop, it will NOT
restore the option for such an icon at Display | Desktop | Customize desktop
| Desktop icons.
